Marking a major new development in the larger horsepower diesel engine business, Kohler Co. and Liebherr Machines Bulle S.A. announced a strategic agreement to develop a new line of diesel engines that will power a new line of Kohler and Kohler/SDMO generator sets.
The new engine line, the KD Series, will include two series — the 135 series and the 175 series — both consisting of
three engines. Overall, the new line will include V12 to V20 engines with displacements from 27 through 103 L. Outputs
will range between 1313 and 4838 bhp gross at 1500 rpm and between 1494 and 5699 bhp gross at 1800 rpm.
