Are You Ready For This Much Power?

Meet the KOHLER® 4 MW industrial generator—featuring 4000 kW at 60 Hz and 4500 kVA at 50 Hz.

The KD4000 is driven by the 103 L, 20-cylinder K175 diesel engine which drive Kato four-pole, rotating field, two-bearing, permanent magnet pilot excited brushless alternators.

Key engine features include a high-pressure common rail fuel system designed to deliver injection pressures up to 32,000 psi. Precisely metered fuel injection results in low fuel consumption, reduced particulate formation and reduced emissions, which helps them meet global emissions regulations in all markets. A turbocharged and aftercooled air handling system helps optimize airflow to the cylinders for maximum power, optimal combustion and reduced fuel consumption.

Free Webinar: “Critical Power: Backup, Standby and Emergency Power for Hospitals” - Tuesday, February 2nd.

Kohler Power Systems is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring a 60-minute webinar through CSE titled “Critical Power: Backup, Standby and Emergency Power for Hospitals” on Tuesday, February 2nd, at 11AM PST.

When designing backup, standby and emergency power systems for hospitals, there are several considerations beyond NFPA 70: National Electrical Code and other building code requirements that must be addressed. Electrical engineers must understand the specific owner project requirements for the building’s power systems and ensure that the generator specification and system topologies meet all those requirements for cost, construction schedule, component performance and system maintainability. Engineers also need to be mindful of the construction process, and ensure equipment replacement is coordinated, temporary power strategies are identified, and phasing concepts are developed.
