Bay City Electric Works Performs Start-Up of Power Plant at US Embassy in Pakistan
Bay City Electric Work's Patrick Carroll ventured to Islamabad, Pakistan on July 14th through September 9th to assist North American Site Services (NASS) and Kohler in the start-up of the back-up power plant for the new United States Embassy there. The new back-up power plant was a part of a $1B expansion project at this 43 acre site which will include a new eight-storey multipurpose compound.
NASS provides critical power systems service support to national customers throughout North America. BCEW is a Partner in North American Site Services with Loftin Equipment Company, Buckeye Power Sales, Tampa Armature Works, RP Power, Kinsley Power Systems, and Total Energy Systems.
The Kohler Power System package consisted of 10 generators with a combined 11MW output, 6 standard ATS's, 3 loadbanks, and paralleling switchgear. Patrick teamed up with Phil Polsey from Total Energy Systems in Wisconsin to test and start-up all of the equipment and confirmed that all systems were performing to design specifications.
We are very proud of Patrick's efforts to bring this sophisticated paralleling switchgear package on-line and to provide all of the training to the local team that will operate the system.
