Kohler Power Systems is sponsoring a 60-minute webinar through Mission Critical entitled "Data Centers: The Site Selection Process, Consolidation, and the Total Cost of Ownership."
When:
Tuesday April 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Two phases will be covered in this presentation about Data Center site selection.
Phase one: goals are defined, teams are assembled to assess current data center and to prepare a report that will be the Data Center Road Map. The Data Center Road Map will uncover the preferred model site selection criteria, location, and the total cost of ownership for the data center. A final report is then prepared for Senior Management's approval.
Phase two: further refinement of the site selection criteria, incentives and due dilligence on the properties. Once this phase has been concluded, execution of the incentive, utility agreements and the lease or purchase of the property takes place. Lastly, the space is designed, constructed, commissioned, the equipment is migrated and the site goes live.
By attending this webinar, you will learn about:
Assembling the right team for the scope
Creating the right data center mix
How to create a Data Center Site Selection Road Map
Estimating Data Center Site Selection Costs Up Front
Blackouts Are a Fact of Life.
Let's Deal With Them
The U.S. grid contains 160,000 miles of high-voltage lines, five million miles of distribution lines, thousands of generators and transformers, and tens of thousands of other pieces of equipment. It is difficult to imagine hardening so massive a structure against random, natural disturbances; it is almost inconceivable that it could be hardened against deliberate and intelligent attacks.
